36 Hour Fast

I have not been actively intentionally doing any specific fasting schedule for a long while. Outside of adult drink, and occasional pizzas, I was never really eating horribly either, I just didn’t necessarily limit when I consumed.

I have found I am not managing to generate the motivation for gym time, which is tragic, and I have yet to figure out how to get myself out of that slump. I have nothing limiting me except the get up and show up.

That said, in place of that, I decided I wanted to try my first extended fast in a number of years. I did a 24hr fast a couple years back, and I know I was still at Anytime Fitness at the time.

I didn’t consume anything except water and coffee between these times.

With me having some time off to end this week, I was like “let’s aim for a 25hr fast” to beat my previous. At the same time, I wanted to gauge how I was feeling at that time and opt to continue if I was feeling fine.

I was feeling fine.

So, my schedule was 7pm on February 26th, until 8pm February 27th and the extension to 7am February 28th. That was this morning. I also wanted the time to correspond to when I aim to wake up daily, so that I could break the fast on my way to coffee+reading, via some meat sticks.

Even with those 2 sticks, I’m not necessarily feeling hungry. I’m not getting constant rumbling stomach demanding attention and food. I’ll still be resuming aiming to get my usual macro ranges again, but I’m not feeling rushed.

I’m sure I’ll want and succeed with an extended fast like this again in the future, but I am not checking my calendar trying to plan out the next one. I’ll let it happen as the mood strikes.
